Associate Professor Roland Cheo and Assistant Professor Li Jingping presented their joint paper "Prejudice or Premia: Do Photographs Matter for Other Regarding Preferences?" in the 2014 Economic Science Association 2014 conference held on 26-29 June 2014 in Hawaii, USA. Their paper explored the way that photographs inform participants of ingroup affiliations which affect giving behaviour. Assistant Professor Li Jingping also presented her current working paper “Punishing the Wrongdoer or Compensating the Victim: An Experiment” which examined the distributive preferences of an unaffected third party when he faced injustice. The Economic Science Association conference is held in North America every year and brings together all the top experimental economists to exchange ideas and form collaborations.
