Doctor Li Rengui a research fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences of China and vice editor of Economic Trends was invited to SDUCER to make a speech named Explanation on Nobile Prize in Economics for postgraduates and doctors in Room 501 of economics and management building at 8:00 May 27th 2007. The host was Vice Professor Li Zenggang the editor of Research on Institutional Economics.

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Li raised a question, “why Economics Doctor and Bangladeshi banker Muhammad Yunus was awarded Nobile Prize in Peace but not in Economics?” Then Professor Li talked about the life of Nobile, the origin and general situation of Nobile Prize, and then extended to the history of Nobile Prize in economics, its principles and procedure, disagreement on it, its vista and real examples of its awarding. When he illustrated the real examples, with statistics he thoroughly analyzed the fields of Nobile Prize in economics, the winners’ districts, universities, age structure, academic background and position, the influence of their breakthrough writings and so on.

Overall the detailed introduction on Nobile Prize in economics was abundant in useful information which attracted students very much and at last we found the answer to Doctor Li’s question in the start.

The meeting ended with ardent applauses at 10 am.
