Center for Economic Research (CER) of Shandong University held Discussion Meeting on Teaching and Textbook Compilation of Institutional Economics on April 25, 2021.

Experts and scholars from Peking University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Shandong University and The National Key Research Base of Economics Textbook Construction attended the meeting. Shaoan Huang, Dean of CER conducted this meeting.

Participating experts generally reached the following consensus: it is necessary to compile the textbook of institutional economics with Chinese characteristics and publish as well as use it at the national level. The economic development miracles of China in the past few decades are fundamentally derived from the reform and innovation of the economic system and the superiority of the national system; Institutional economics textbooks should not only make a good summary of the existing theories, but also have innovation based on China's own experience and facts.
